Accommodation
Types of accommodation
During your time with The Spanish Program you will have three possible types of accommodation:
- At your Spanish tutor’s family home in your own bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
- At your Spanish tutor’s family home in a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom sharing with another student.
- With a local host family close to the university campus.
Choosing to stay at your Spanish tutor’s home
You will love the experience of immersing yourself in a relaxed family atmosphere. In no time, you will feel right at home. Throughout your time in Spain, you will stay at your Spanish tutor’s home, a lovely 1780’s Spanish country-house, typical of the Cantabrian region.

You will be part of the family and you will share our traditional Spanish lifestyle becoming another family member. You will be hosted in one of our private bedrooms with en-suite bathroom where you will be able to enjoy your privacy whenever you require it. While staying with us, you will also enjoy our family meals that are based on Spanish traditional recipes. Merche is an excellent cook and she is always praised by our students! We’re pretty sure that you will enjoy her food. If you want, you can help her and learn how to cook “the Spanish way”.
For a bit of peace and quiet, you can chill out in our Library, patio and garden where you can find your favourite spot to work and study, whilst enjoying our incredible mountain views. You will find that your confidence, knowledge and fluency grows, while having the time of your life.
Keeping in touch with family, browsing the Internet and watching Netflix, etc. won’t be a problem with our high speed fibre optic internet connection. You will also have access to fast Internet and Spanish, European and some US satellite TV.

Carefully selected host families
If you prefer, you can also be hosted in one of our carefully selected and vetted family homes.
Our families have to pass a rigorous process to become one of our host families. This comprises of an initial interview to get an idea as to whether the family are good candidates, external references and police checks, visits to the host family home to inspect the house and student’s bedroom, interviews with all the family members and the signing of a contract which includes a code of conduct.
During your stay we’ll be in constant contact with you and your host family and you will have a 24 hour support available in case you have any urgent concerns with the accommodation or the host family.
