The Spanish Program

Raquel, Fernando, Merche and Victoria

The Spanish Program is a family run business that focus on offering each student the best attention and care.

We have teamed up with the Universidad de Cantabria, one of the top three universities in Spain to offer you the best possible experience in Spain.

Our programs have limited student numbers. That’s why we can offer individualised programs to each of our students.

We’re Merche and Fernando and our twin daughters Raquel and Victoria. We’ve been teaching Spanish for more than 30 years. We lived in the UK. In 2001, The British Government and the European Union gave us the European Award for Languages because of our innovative teaching methods.

Fernando was a Spanish Tutor in the University of Surrey, where he was in charge of developing all the university’s language online courses. He’s also one of the authors of the AS/A2 textbook ¡Ponte al Día!, has experience as an external examiner and developed Spanish teaching materials for the BBC. He’s also a Google Certified Educator.

Merche is a lawyer and she worked in the buying office of El Corte Inglés in London. Once back in Spain she trained in teaching Spanish as a second language and has been teaching since.

Raquel & Victoria, our twin daughters were born on 6 October 2011. They love to interact with visitors and they’re an important source to learn Spanish for all of our students.

We will welcome you as another family member and that’s one of the most important factors for our success.

We look forward to your stay.

Fernando, Merche, Raquel & Victoria.
